The Indian Lake Board of Education recognized student achievements, approve supplemental contracts, gave the go-ahead for a new livestock building on campus and approved the list of graduating seniors during their May regular meeting.
Several ILHS/OHP FFA students were honored. ILHS had a record ten students receive their State FFA Degree this spring. They are
Stephanie Altstaetter, Colby Borgerding, Kaleb Hurley, Allison Kinney, Jacob King, Ella Shoffstall, Makayla Strauser, Mark Wolf, Beau Young and Trenton Fulkerson. Members of the poultry judging team and dairy cattle team were also recognized.
In addition, the board approved a bid to construct a livestock building on campus this summer.
Indian Lake Superintendent Rob Underwood says,
"We are going to be erecting a 48x80 building that will serve our students as they keep their fair projects there and continue to grow poultry in collaboration with the United Way to serve local food banks."
Indian Lake treasurer Coleen Reprogle offered a five-year forecast update. She says the numbers remain steady since her last official update last fall.
Finally, Superintendent Underwood gave board members details on the upcoming Graduation ceremonies. There are 111 seniors set to graduate. All graduates will have met Indian Lake High School graduation requirements, not simply State of Ohio recommendations.
ILHS Commencement Ceremonies will take place Sunday, May 22nd at 2 pm at Laker Stadium. The event is open to the public and tickets are not needed.
The Indian Lake Board of Education will meet again on Monday, June 20th at 5 pm in the board office.
