The Indian Lake Board of Education got an update on finances, honored a host of athletes and once again agreed to offer free student passes to athletic contests for the 2026-27 school year.
District Treasurer Brady Hipsher told board members that the district's bond on the Elementary School will be eligible for refinancing later this fall. The board agreed that Hipsher should examine the interest rates at that time and then they will consider making a change. Hipsher reports that refinancing the bond could save tax payers some money should interest rates remain favorable.
To start the meeting, board members recognized ILHS Track and Field Athletes who represented our district at the recent OHSAA Meet in Columbus. Senior Addison Beck qualified for the High Jump, senior Gavin Henry qualified for the 110 m hurdles and senior Christopher Timms made the podium in 8th place in Shot Put. Senior Aidan Stinebaugh was also recognized for placing third in Triple Jump at the State Indoor Track Meet earlier this year. Finally, 8th grader Oliver Wilson was recognized for winning the seated Shot Put in the Middle School and placing runner up in the seated 400 m and seated 100 m races.
Members concluded the meeting by voting to continue free student passes to regular athletic events for Indian Lake students in grades K-12 for the 2026-27 school year.

again on Monday, July 27th at 5 pm in the Board Office.
