With just a few weeks left of school, Quest Federal Credit Union honored their Teachers of the Year from local school districts with a luncheon and awards ceremony.
The event was held recently at the Syndicate restaurant. Quest Federal Credit Union CEO Matt Jennings led the ceremony.
Longtime Indian Lake Elementary School Reading Specialist Elaine Jacobs is the Teacher of the Year from Indian Lake. She was nominated by several grateful parents.
One wrote: “She does research on her own time to learn the latest information about the changes in methods to better teach kids how to read. She even implemented a program she found through research. The staff has seen many improvements in our students' reading skills because of the program.”
Jacobs has been an educator with Indian Lake Schools for 32 years.
Other teachers recognized included Bellefontaine’s Alicia Dinovo, Trisha Hemmelgarn from Ben Logan, Jodie Labelle from Calvary Christian, Ginger Shellenberger from Ohio Hi Point Career Center and Riverside’s Lucinda Fleming.
Jacobs' husband, children and administrative team accompanied her to the luncheon. She received a glass trophy and gift certificate.
