The Lakers kicked off Lake Effect Days for the 2026-27 school year with some fancy footwear! This year's district-wide theme is "Be a Light-Step Up, Speak Up, Support Your Crew!"
The recent Lake Effect lessons focused on stepping up, so Lakers were asked to wear their favorite shoes. The idea of stepping up doesn't mean always jumping in. Sometimes the disciplined action is waiting. Sometimes it's going first. Sometimes it's changing what you're doing. Sometimes it's giving someone else room.
The important part is that you're making an intentional choice instead of operating on autopilot.
All Lakers participated with material modified for each grade level.
Indian Lake holds Lake Effect Days each month as part of the R-factor training to focus on character development and anti-bullying.

The very first Lake Effect Day for the district is set for Wednesday, September 2.
