The Indian Lake Board of Education gave a formal farewell to a longtime district leader.
Treasurer Coleen Reprogle is retiring at the end of the month. The July Board meeting is the last one she will preside over.
Board President Gabe Wickline said the board is fortunate to have worked with someone like her.
"Her leadership, her longevity, her meticulous attention to detail has helped stabilize the district and has put us in a good position moving forward."
Brady Hipsher will replace Reprogle. He was hired this spring and has been working under Reprogle's supervision for the past few months.
In regular business the board voted to move forward with a major upgrade to the ILHS Auditorium light system.
Superintendent Rob Underwood explains.
"We're currently operating on a system that is so antiquated that it uses a floppy disk in the computer--it isn't even functioning anymore." He continued, "We are excited to see this upgrade. Our students deserve this and we know our community really wants us to maintain a nice auditorium because our kids do so well at that and we are so proud of them."
