Located in northwest Logan County, Ohio, the Indian Lake School District encompasses 126 square miles including the municipalities of Huntsville, Lakeview, Lewistown and Russells Point.

The Lake Effect is at the foundation of everything we do at ILS. No matter how you are connected to our school, we aspire to produce a positive experience (or “effect”) through the interaction. We focus on social and emotional development that utilizes the R-Factor (Event+Response=Outcome) decision-making framework where students and staff learn how to improve their response to elicit the best possible outcome. The curriculum prepares students for the work world by developing invaluable soft skills. Students are also nurtured by our emotional support dogs, (Sadie and Roxie), a full-time school resource officer, the Community Health and Wellness Partners school-based health center that offers both mental and physical healthcare, mobile dentist, the iSee eye care program, and a professional and caring staff.

At the elementary school, we have an established positive behavior program-The Laker Zone-that encourages good citizenship and academic achievement.

At the middle school, we are focusing on behavioral leadership through a wide variety of clubs, activities and sports in which students can explore their interests.

At the high school, we offer many engaging challenges, including college prep courses, Robotics, Manufacturing/Welding, Agriculture, Business and Informational Technology.

Indian Lake is a member of the Central Buckeye Conference and has a long tradition of competitive athletes. Our weight facility is recently renovated to incorporate advanced training. We have an active Athletic Boosters organization and many youth development programs.

In addition, Indian Lake Schools offer one of the area’s best programs for the Arts. From middle and high school show choirs, to symphonic, marching and jazz bands, to the annual high school musical, and our outstanding visual arts creations, our students can truly showcase their talents. Many parents support these programs through our active Music Boosters organization.

The Indian Lake area offers an array of activities including boating, fishing, camping, biking, hiking and dining on one of Ohio's largest lakes.
