The sun finally decided to shine on the Indian Lake High School Class of 2025 as they said farewell to their high school careers.

ILHS recently held Commencement Ceremonies in front of a packed house in Laker Stadium.
The graduation speaker was Ohio Governor Mike Dewine. The Governor told the students how impressed he is with their resiliency. He quoted both former Ohio State Coach and current Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and former Ohio State Coach Woody Hayes in his speech, citing the students' hard work and ability to rise after a fall.
He told the class, "Your greatest days and your greatest impact are, in fact, ahead of you, but only is you believe that they are!"
Prior the ceremony, Governor DeWine met with the families of Class of 2025 members Nolan Park and Chloe Hodge, who both passed after tragic automobile accidents last school year.
"While nothing will ever fill the void that they have left in the Class of 2025, Chloe and Nolan will be forever remembered, for they have touched the lives of every person here."
Class of 2025 President Czar Dickson recapped their high school years from the bad times to the good.
Dickson remarked, "As we look back and remember all the heartbreak and sadness, it is impossible to overlook the resilience, strength and support this community has shown."
Photos of Nolan Purk and Chloe Hodge flanked the stage where graduates received their diplomas. Nolan's mother and Chloe's mother were each presented diplomas on their child's behalf and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Before each member of the class received their diploma, the Top 10 scholars were announced.

They are: (10) Emma Meyer, (9) Caleb Altstaetter, (8) Kenzie Dixon, (7) Cameron Freyhof, (6) Haylee McCafferty, (5) Laila Lynch,  (4-Salutatorian) Svea Martini,  (1-Valedictorian) Czar Dickson,
(1-Valedictorian) Kailin Fauley, (1-Valedictorian) Adeline Robinson and (1-Valedictorian) Cambria Tuttle.

Once the ceremony was complete, the graduates threw their caps in the air and posed for pictures with family and friends.

Congratulations ILHS Class of 2025!!

Governor Mike DeWine

Mike DeWine’s story is a true Ohio story. Raised in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Mike DeWine and Fran (Struewing) met in the first grade and married while students at Miami University. They’ve been blessed with eight children, 28 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Family is at the core of everything Mike DeWine does, and that’s why he has devoted his life to fighting for Ohio’s families. He knows when families are strong, Ohio communities are stronger, and our future is bright.

Mike DeWine loves Ohio and cares passionately about our state’s future. He will fight for an Ohio that works for everyone – every person and every family in every corner of our state. From world class cities to some of the best small towns in America, Mike DeWine knows that to build our state into an economic powerhouse, we must have strong schools, a great quality of life, and compassion for those who need our help.

Mike DeWine’s family started a seed company in Yellow Springs. Working alongside his parents and grandparents, Mike learned early the value of hard work, strong leadership, and fiscal responsibility.

Growing up, he loaded seed bags onto trucks and boxcars, shoveled wheat out of trucks during harvest, worked in wheat fields to help ensure the purity of the seed, and basically did whatever it took to get the job done for their customers. Inseparable to the end, his parents were married for 65 years and died within four days of each other. The values he learned from them still live within him today.

On November 6, 2018, Mike DeWine was elected to serve as the 70th Governor of the State of Ohio. The Governor has had a long and distinguished career in public service, focusing on protecting Ohio children and families. He was previously the 50th Attorney General of Ohio and has previously been elected to serve as Greene County Prosecutor, Ohio State Senator, U.S. Congressman, Ohio Lt. Governor, U.S. Senator.
