In May, a handful of Laker athletes gathered for a Signing Day ceremony with friends and family! Over the next few days we will highlight each athlete and their plan to continue their sport at the next level.

We begin with Ariel Brielmaier. Surrounded by her family, Ariel signed her official paperwork to golf for Ohio Northern University. Ariel is a 2-year letter winner on the ILHS Girls Golf Team.
"I just want something to get me out of the dorm and it's something I really enjoy," she explains.
Ariel plans to study Criminal Justice and Psychology at ONU. Good luck as a Polar Bear!
ILHS all-around athletic standout Quest Clay is taking his game to Ashland University! Quest is excited to become an Eagle Football player. He will continue his career as a wide receiver.
"I've always wanted to play football at a higher level. I'm just excited to play and, hopefully, make my community, school, friends and family proud of me," he said during the recent Athletic Signing Ceremony at Indian Lake High School. Several family members, friends and coaches joined him as he officially signed his paperwork.
Quest was a key role player in the success of the 2024 Indian Lake Football Team that made it all the way to Week 14 and the Elite 8. He was the CBC Offensive Player of the Year his senior season and earned All State Honors. He earned First Team All CBC as a junior wide receiver as well. In addition, Quest advanced to the OHSAA Track Meet during his junior season and secured 10th place in the state in Long Jump. He also made it state for triple jump during the 2025 Indoor Track season.
He plans to study Business.
Best of luck, Quest!
3-sport standout Madden Lillard had one heck of a senior year and he's taking that momentum to Wright State Lake Campus in Celina!
He signed to play Baseball for the Lake Campus Lakers during the recent Athletic Signing Day at Indian Lake High School. Madden is excited to become a new kind of Laker.
Madden explains, "Coach Bailey is the Coach a Wright State and I really like him. I can't wait to get started at short stop or second base. I like how it's small and relatively close to home."
Lillard recently earned CBC Mad River Division Player of the Year honors, as well as District Player of the Year for Baseball. As an infielder, he helped power the Lakers to another great spring season. In addition, Madden played quarterback for the history-making Laker Football team last fall that advanced to Week 14 and the Elite 8. He was First Team All CBC Offense as a senior and earned State Honorable Mention as a QB. Finally, Madden was named Special Mention for CBC Basketball, helping lead the Lakers to their third conference title in a row!
He plans to study Education.
Best of Luck at the (other) Lake!
4-time state wrestling qualifier Owen Pummel made his college choice official during the recent Indian Lake Athletic Signing Day! He will be a part of the Greco Roman Wrestling Team at Northern Michigan University this fall.
After wrestling his entire childhood, Owen discovered Greco Roman Wrestling in the past few years and loves the different techniques involved in the sport. He is excited that he's found a home in NMU where he can study biology and ecology.
Pummel capped off his career as a Laker with state runner-up finish at the year's OHSAA State Meet. He qualified for the state meet every year of high school and set the record for most wins in Indian Lake Wrestling history. He is currently healing after hip surgery. We know he will come back stronger than ever! Good Luck, Owen!
From Baseball to Wrestling, the ILHS Class of 2025 produced excellent athletes!
A total of four Laker seniors are committed to play their sport collegiately. This week, Indian Lake Athletic Director Jeff Courter and Principal Kyle Wagner held a Signing Day Reception for each of those athletes to celebrate with family and friends. Each student-athlete signed their official intent form and posed for pictures with coaches, family members and fans.
