ILHS juniors recently got an official introduction to the 3E Program and starting thinking about their future plans!
Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ben Vollrath and Karen Sorreles from the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center both spoke to upperclassmen during the 3E Kickoff event at ILHS recently.
They discussed the importance of students using the final years of high school to decide their E--Enroll, Enlist or Employ? Each individual must decide whether to enroll to further their education, enlist in the military or become employed locally.
Vollrath explains that this is the fifth full year for the 3E program in Logan County and our community needs these young people.
"Once you graduate from a 2-year, a 4-year program, after a stint in the military, come back. There are plenty of jobs here and they're not junk jobs--these are awesome careers and you can do anything that your heart desires right here in Logan County."

Sorreles unveiled a list of events throughout the year designed to help students decide their E including:
College Day-October 9th, Ben Logan High School
Manufacturing Day- October 10th, Company Tours
Enlistment Week- November 4-8th
Financial Aid Night- November 21st, Bellefontaine High School
FAFSA Completion- December 4th, Ben Logan High School

Interview Training- JanuaryTBD

Power Pace Speed Interviews- February
Career Expo- March 14 and
3E Signing Week- April
In addition, there will also be monthly career speakers at ILHS.
Like years past, ILHS will also spotlight students weekly who have chosen their E. Those senior students simply need to email Jamie Ross at [email protected] to be recognized.
The 3E initiative is an effort by the Logan County Collaborative, which includes the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce, local schools, area employers and more.
