
Three Indian Lake High School students recently represented their chapter at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Convention in Florida.
ILHS Seniors Czar Dickson and Jayden Martin, along with junior Gavin Henry qualified for the national event by earning top scores at the State PBA Convention in March.
Dickson and Martin competed in Fundamental Word Processing and each obtained an MOS Certification in PowerPoint. Henry competed in Fundamental Accounting. None placed in the top 10, but everyone did their best!
The guys got to see many attractions in Orlando, Florida where the BPA Conference was held. They toured Universal Studios, visited NASA, relaxed at Cocoa Beach, went on an airboat ride and saw alligators up close in the wild and enjoyed many great meals. They were accompanied by ILHS BPA Advisor and ILHS/OHP Business Teacher Lisa Coburn.
Several Indian Lake High School students excelled at the recent Ohio Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference in Columbus.
Senior Czar Dickson placed 1st in Fundamental Word Processing while senior Jayden Martin placed 7th. Junior Gavin Henry placed 5th in Fundamental Accounting. Those three Lakers advance to the National BPA Conference in Orlando on May 7-11.
Other state competitors included Chloe Wade in Fundamental Word Processing, Mara Bihn & Stephens Spofford in Business Law & Ethics, Olivia Hurley in Fundamental Accounting, Alex Kinney in Payroll Accounting, & Gavin Spring in Python Programming. Their advisor is ILHS/OHP Business teacher Mrs. Lisa Coburn.
