The Indian Lake Moose is making another monumental donation to Indian Lake Schools!
Moose leaders presented Indian Lake Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood, Treasurer Brady Hipsher and Athletic Director Jeff Courter with a check for more than $86,000 recently. The money is raised through their charitable gaming.
Dr. Underwood says the funds will be used to purchase a trailer to transport band equipment and to assist with the cost of the Quiz Bowl team competition trip to Chicago in the spring. The administration team is also considering adding a press box at the ILHS Softball facility.
Dr. Underwood says, “Last year’s donation from the Moose was transformative for Indian Lake students. We have already seen the impact of their generosity through the success of our new weight room. The historic run that our football team made to the State Final 4 is in no small part because of this upgrade.”

Officers of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533 presented Indian Lake Schools administrators a check recently for more than $87,000 from the lodge's charitable gaming funds.
Indian Lake Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood explains that Moose Treasurer Brian Chew and Administrator Dwaine Brown approached him and IL Athletic Director Jeff Courter about an annual donation to the IL District and Athletic Department a few weeks ago.
Dr. Underwood says they never imagined the sum of money would be this large.
"To say that we are amazed and shocked and humbled would be a light way of putting it. We know that this money is transformational for some of the things we are trying to do for our students and our athletes." He continued, "And that's one thing that the Moose requested from us, was to try to make sure that the funds are spread out as far as we can make them go to support our students."
Dr. Underwood says this money will supplement plans to move the current ILHS weight room into the former bus garage building once the new bus maintenance facility and garage is complete near ILMS. The current weight room will become part of a larger wrestling room for that growing program. Moving the weight room to a separate building, increasing the space and purchasing all new equipment will enhance Indian Lake athletic programs and offer additional options for Physical Education classes.
