Lakers are on the final leg of a massive three-part project on campus!
The brand new wrestling mats are here and are curing in the ILHS Auxiliary Gym, which will be closed for about a week and a half. After that, the freshly waxed floors in the expanded Wrestling Facility will be ready for the floor mats. Meanwhile, new wall mats are also being installed all along the walls in the new part of the wrestling room, so it is ready for the upcoming season!
As you know, the former ILHS Weight Room is now part of the Wrestling Room to offer extra space for that growing athletic program. The ILHS Weight Facility is now located in the former bus garage just outside of the event entrance at ILHS. The building was remodeled over the summer to house brand new equipment and a trainer's facility. Finally, the IL bus drivers and buses are already rolling out of the brand new bus garage and maintenance facility. We will take a tour of this new facility during the upcoming October Board of Education meeting.
