For ILHS upperclassmen, the time has come to start considering their 3E!
Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ben Vollrath and Karen Sorreles from the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center both spoke to juniors and seniors during the 3E Kickoff event at ILHS recently.
They discussed the importance of students using the final years of high school to decide their E--Enroll, Enlist or Employ? Each individual must decide whether to enroll to further their education, enlist in the military or become employed locally.
Vollrath explains that this is the fourth full year for the 3E program in Logan County and our community needs these young people.
"You are important. You're valuable. We need you thinking, we need you engaging, we need you saying what's next for my community, how do I make this a better place?"
He continued, "If you like some of the new things you see around the Lake and in Logan County, those things are only happening because folks like you, who graduate from here, choose to come back and reinvest."

Sorreles unveiled a list of events throughout the year designed to help students decide their E including:
College Day-October 13,Ben Logan High School
Manufacturing Day- October 18, Company Tours
Financial Aid Night- October 24, Bellefontaine High School

Enlistment Week- November 1-8
Interview Training- January 22
FAFSA Completion- January 30

Power Pace Speed Interviews- February 2, 13, 21 & 27
Career Expo- March 14 and
3E Signing Week- April
In addition, there will also be monthly career speakers at ILHS.
Like years past, ILHS will also spotlight students weekly who have chosen their E.
The 3E initiative is an effort by the Logan County Collaborative, which includes the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce, local schools, area employers and more.
