Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood, District Treasurer Brady Hipsher and Athletic Director Jeff Courter recently accepted a check for just over $34,000 from the Eagles' charitable gaming proceeds.
Mr. Courter said, "We are so grateful that the Eagles have seen fit to entrust us with these funds for a second year in a row. We plan to spread the money around to enhance academics and athletics."
The funds will be combined with another large donation from the Indian Lake Moose to complete the outside of the new weight room facility, begin initial work on a press box/concession stand at the ILHS softball field, support the ILHS Quiz Bowl Team for their trip to compete in Chicago and add graphics to the new Marching Band equipment trailer.
Dr. Underwood says these donations allow the purchase of some nice extras that would not otherwise be in the school budget.
"We are thoughtfully and carefully allocating these funds to have the greatest impact on the most Indian Lake students."
Funds from last year's charitable gaming helped to remodel the former bus garage into the new Weight Room and expand the facility for the Indian Lake Wrestling program.
