[email protected] "Laker Up" Camp really brought home the fun!
Dozens of students in grades 5-8 had the opportunity to explore careers and continue their learning during the second annual free event. The camp was part of Indian Lake Schools [email protected] 21st Century Grant and was held in collaboration with Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.

Indian Lake Curriculum Director and Gifted Services Coordinator Kelli Tebbe-Miller led the camp again this year.
Students were able to explore careers in engineering, design, horticulture and more.
Laker Leadership Council members helped teach R-Factor principles such a resiliency, responsibility and respect through several group exercises. Working together, students found their way out of an escape room, used their new "buffs" as blindfolds for a communication game, scored with Scrabble Basketball and more.
6th grade camper Adriana Andrus said she had a lot of fun.
"We talked about E+R=O and we also competed

together in teams...I'm glad I was able to meet new people, learn more about careers and do fun activities. Im coming to camp next year!"

Summer Camp

[email protected] Summer Camp is going on now at Indian Lake Middle School!!
Students are learning all kinds of fun stuff like how to build a birdhouse, how to design a room, how to engineer a balloon-mobile and how to plant their own garden.
The camp runs from 8:00 am until 11:30 am with activities led by Ohio Hi-Point teachers and our own ILS staff. Plus, our own ILS high school students are there to lead the students in leadership activities. Snacks are provided by ALDI, plus attendees will receive a gift card and a t-shirt for attending all 3 days!

Your son/daughter is invited to participate in a FREE 3-day Careers @ ILS Summer Camp on June 7,8, and 9.

It was a blast last year so don’t miss out this summer!

The camp is for students currently in grades 5-8 and is being funded by the 21^st Century Grant, [email protected], Ohio Hi-Point, and ALDI. The camp will be hosted at the Indian Lake Middle School and will run from 8:00 am until 11:30 am. Students will participate in fun, hands-on activities to learn more about science, technology, engineering, and math careers with lessons by Ohio Hi-Point teachers and our own ILS staff. Finally, our own ILS high school students will be there one day to lead the students in leadership activities. Snacks will be provided by ALDI, plus attendees will receive a gift card and a t-shirt for attending all 3 days!
