Indian Lake Student Council members recently loaded up box after box of nonperishable items brought in for the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! Then they unloaded it all at the IL United Christian Food Pantry in Russells Point. Students at ILES and ILHS donated canned goods, while ILMS students have another upcoming community project. Way to care for others, Lakers!
ILHS and ILES Student Councils are joining forces for a Thanksgiving Food Drive!
If possible, high school and elementary school students are asked to bring in canned/boxed foods and non-perishable items.
**No green beans, please. They are not needed at this time.**
Everything will be donated to the United Christian Services of Indian Lake. The drive will run from Monday, November 18th through Monday, November 25th.
Normally, Indian Lake Schools holds an All District Food Drive during this time of year. However, the pantry at St. Vincent de Paul's is still overflowing with donations in the wake of the tornado.
ILMS students will be asked to participate in a different project, so those students do not need to bring in food items.
25th. Indian Lake students stuffed the giant wooden turkey, stuffed boxes and stuffed barrels all over campus this week for the district's annual Food Drive. The result was a truck stuffed full of food for folks in our area. ILHS Key Club members gathered up the donations and delivered them to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Russells Point. Key Club is sponsoring donuts for each homeroom class at ILHS, ILMS and ILES that brought in the most nonperishables.
