Indian Lake Elementary Laker Zone leaders Pam Scarpella and Justin Welker represented our district at a recent PBIS Showcase in Dayton. They applied and were selected to present about the success of the Laker Zone and how it has evolved. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. The showcase included schools from the entire state, with more than 1,000 participants. State Superintendent Paulo DeMaria was the event's keynote speaker.
The Laker Zone is a long-standing program at ILES that continuously reinforces positive behaviors. Students recite the Laker Zone pledge daily...

helps others and myself learn,
keeps others and myself safe,
is helpful to others and myself.
