This is the image for the news article titled January Board of Education MeetingThe Indian Lake Board of Education learned about district technology goals, accepted donations, contracted for additional counseling services and set the school calendar during their January regular meeting. 
To start the meeting, Abbi Hastings from the Indian Lake Watershed presented a check $4,000 check to Superintendent Rob Underwood. The money is an annual donation tallied from the proceeds of the Nashville Hitmakers Concert in August. The money will go toward the district's music programs. 
Technology Director Ron Borgerding gave an update on the state of the district's technological capabilities. He showed board member the new cameras and updated system installed over the summer. In addition, he discussed the 6th Grade Chromebook Pilot project where every sixth grader in the district has his or her own device to use at school (see the full story at http://ms.ils-k12.org/news/what_s_new/6th_grade_chromebook_pilot_program )
The Board voted to enter into a contract with TCN (formerly Consolidated Care) for additional student counseling services. Riverside and Indian Lake Schools will contract for one counselor/case worker to serve both schools. The position will serve Indian Lake students three days a week with counseling and case work, while spending the remaining two days a week at Riverside Schools.
Finally, the IL Board of Education voted to set the calendar for the 2020-21 school year.
