The PBIS efforts at Indian Lake Schools are influencing how other districts implement their programs.
The Positive Behavior Incentives and Supports Team from Wapakoneta Middle School recently toured Indian Lake Middle School and met with the IL District PBIS Team.
They discussed what has worked so far with students at ILMS and what adjustments have been made to promote further PBIS success. ILMS implemented their PBIS program three years ago.
PBIS efforts at ILMS include handing out Spear Cards for good behavior. Those cards are on display and can now be redeemed at the periodic Laker Store for Indian Lake items, candy and more.
In addition, behavior expectations are clearly marked in all areas of the buildings and even on the busses.
Indian Lake's PBIS programs, including the long-standing ILES Laker Zone, are all part of the district's overall plan known as The Lake Effect meant to support every student's emotional, behavior and academic needs.
The Lake Effect is driven by a Culture Playbook that includes our primary Laker beliefs, behaviors, and desired outcomes.
