ILES once again earned the Momentum Award for exceeding expectations in student growth.
Co-Principal Molly Hall is delighted to accept the award for a second year in a row.
She said, "I'm so proud of the continued work of our staff and their commitment to our students."
In addition, the Indian Lake Middle School earned a School of Honor High Progress Award for the first time ever.
Co-Principal Missy Mefford explains that in the last few years ILMS adjusted class periods to allow more instruction and extension time for math and language arts. She feels that's made all the difference in student achievement.
"Kudos to our teachers and staff for their flexibility and working to find the extra instructional time in the school day to make sure our students can excel."
ILES and ILMS will receive their official awards later this school year.
Any Ohio school or district is eligible for the Momentum Award if it receives straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which include gifted, lowest 20 percent in achievement and students with disabilities.
Schools of Honor High Progress winners must meet or exceed the 90th percentile of all statewide gains in core subjects over the last five years, and earn high marks on the Overall Value-Added measure and the Gap Closing Grade.
