The need for blood is scary right now and ILHS students learned about the importance of theirs ahead of Halloween!
Chris Pickle from the Community Blood Center talked to the student body recently about the upcoming SADD Blood Drive on November 9th.
She said, "You are on a mission that day, you are saving lives. Your drive has the potential to save 300 lives!"
From 8 am to 2:20 pm on November 9th, the ILHS SADD Blood Drive aims to collect 100 units of blood. Those units will be used for cancer patients, accident victims and others in need at 27 hospitals in the region.
Students must be 16 years of age and at least 110 pounds to donate. (16 years olds must have a signed permission slip.) She encouraged students to make sure to eat a hearty meals the day before and the day of donating. She also stressed the need to drink lots of water starting now to encourage good blood flow.
