The Indian Lake Board of Education wrapped up business for 2021 and bid farewell to a longtime board member in a short December monthly meeting.
Kim Boswell is retiring after 20 years of service on the Indian Lake Board of Education. She was sworn into office on January 9th, 2002. Boswell has helped guide three IL superintendents, build a new elementary building and much more in her tenure.
She said, "We've seen a lot of changes and really a lot of great things over the years...It's a time I'll treasure."
Boswell received a special plaque commemorating her service and board members held a small reception at the conclusion of the meeting.
The board accepted several routine motions to round out the evening. They also approved a contract renewal for IL District Treasurer Coleen Reprogle.
The Indian Lake Board of Education will gather for an organizational meeting on Wednesday, January 5th at 5 pm to set the schedule for 2022. Gabe Wickline will serve as President Pro-Tempore for that meeting. At that time, newly elected board member Shannon Reese will be sworn in to take Boswell's seat.
