Bus Bulletin Board

It’s easy to be in the Laker Zone in class, but sometimes it’s hard for kids to remember how to be “in the zone” on the way to school and home.

That’s why Indian Lake Elementary is starting a new Bus Bulletin Board incentive program. Each week, Assistant Principal Pam Scarpella will watch video from four randomly selected busses. With the help of the drivers, she will select two riders who are behaving properly per bus, per week. Those students will get their name on the Thursday morning announcements and get to choose from small prizes in the office. Finally, they will get their picture up on the Bus Bulletin Board. In addition, Scarpella will also speak with students who she observes not behaving properly on the bus surveillance videos. The program starts this week!

ILMS Co-Principal Missy Mefford says the middle school will be starting a similar bus behavior program after Thanksgiving Break.
