Indian Lake High School students who will be eligible to vote in the 2019 General Election learned why they should during a special presentation. Logan County Board of Elections Deputy Director Adam Brannon recently spoke to the group about how young people can makes a difference when it comes to elections.
He said, "If you are 18 years old and registered to vote, you can run for a local office like school board, township trustee, or even mayor." 
During the presentation students who will be 18 years old by the General Election on November 5th of this year were able to register to vote. This year's deadline to register is October 7th. 
Brannon also spoke to the students about the opportunity to become polls workers. Last fall, then-senior Deanna Fry from Indian Lake worked at the polling place located in the ILHS Auxiliary Gym.
