The 2020 Indian Lake Community Homecoming Celebration was different from years past, but every bit as beautiful and spirit-filled!! Thanks to our parents, neighbors, staff members and community members for coming out to support our students this afternoon. We appreciate everyone's efforts to wear masks and socially distance as we played the Homecoming game and later celebrated our fall sports, ILHS clubs, local law enforcement, fire and EMS, plus the ILHS Homecoming Queen and her Court in downtown Russells Point.
The theme of this year's celebration was "There's No Place Like Home!" The floats featured Indian Lake area activities and attractions. As always, they were fabulous!! And we're right...there is no place like Indian Lake when it comes to the support of our community!
Congratulations to Queen Ella Wagner and the Court-Freshman Attendant Haylee Edwards, Sophomore Attendant Paige Mefford, Junior Attendant Paige Kindle, and Senior Attendant Ashlyn Shaner.

Check out this video of all the festivities.

The Indian Lake Homecoming Court, Russells Point Police and Indian Lake Schools invite Laker fans to wear masks and socially distance along Main Street in Russells Point for the 2020 Homecoming Celebration. This is the 12th annual event, but it will look different. This spirit-filled tradition will take place in downtown Russells Point on Saturday, September 26th beginning at 5 pm. The theme for this year’s Homecoming event is “There’s No Place Like Home!,” a nod to the COVID-19 health crisis that is forcing changes to the celebration. Floats will feature Indian Lake area landmarks, activities or attractions. Floats will be limited to ILHS student athletes, band members, local law enforcement, ILHS student organizations and the 2020 Homecoming Queen and Court. No candy or prizes will be thrown and there will be no pep rally.
As always, establishments along the parade route are encouraged to decorate their exteriors. The ILHS Student Council will present an award for the Business with the Best Spirit.
Prior to the parade, Russells Point Police will close the west end of Main Street at 4 pm. Floats should approach the parade route from Township Road 239 at Midway. Students who are participating in the parade must wear masks and they may be dropped off at the bike path pull-off at Twp. Rd. 239 or Paradise Island across from Indian Head Roadhouse. Student pick up will be at the overflow parking area below State Route 366 next to US 33. (helipad area)
The Homecoming Celebration will conclude with a dance for ILHS students ONLY from 7:30-10 pm under the bleachers at Laker Stadium. All tickets for the dance will be sold at school in the days prior to the dance. There will be no sales at the gate. Students are encouraged to wear dressy attire to the dance. (no jeans/shorts) Masks will be required.

Special thanks to the Logan County Health District, the Russells Point Police Department and the community for their input in making this a safe and spirited event.

Indian Lake High School is working with community partners to host a socially-distanced Homecoming 2020 Celebration on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. This year’s IL Homecoming theme is “There’s No Place Like Home!,” a nod to the COVID-19 health crisis.

The 2020 Homecoming Queen and her court will be introduced during the Indian Lake versus Graham Varsity Football Game on Friday, September 25 in Laker Stadium. Tickets for players, band members and cheerleaders will go on sale in the online Box Office on Friday, September 18th with the student code required.  The parade of cars will begin at 6:20 pm, followed by the introduction of the Court-Freshman Haylee Edwards, Sophomore Paige Mefford, Junior Paige Kindle and Senior Ashlyn Shaner, and the crowning of the Queen, Ella Wagner. The game will kick off at 7 pm.

On Saturday, September 26th, the Russells Point Police and Indian Lake High School Student Council will continue the 2020 Homecoming Celebration in the late afternoon in downtown Russells Point.  (Time TBD) The Indian Lake Marching  Band will lead the event. ILHS varsity fall sports teams and each high school class level will present their floats, featuring the theme “There’s No Place Like Home.” Floats will highlight landmarks and activities that can be enjoyed at Indian Lake. The Homecoming Queen and her Court will participate. The community is encouraged to line the streets and watch from their vehicles, similar to the socially-distanced Community Clap Out held for the Class of 2020 Seniors in the spring.

The Indian Lake Homecoming 2020 Celebration will culminate in a dance for Indian Lake High School students ONLY at Laker Stadium from 7:30-10 pm.

The Indian Lake High School Journalism class crashed classes recently to surprise the 2020 Homecoming Queen and class attendants. They presented the girls with a rose to make it official. Students recently voted for one young lady to represent the Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes, plus a Senior Attendant and a Queen.
